The concept of Yin and Yang: two opposite yet interconnected forces that form a system in which the whole is greater than its parts. High and low, light and dark, fire and water, shadow and light, Catherine and Geert. Catherine, with her playful affection, and Geert, with quiet calm, were married at The Bond Chapel of Chicago, a venue in the Neo-Gothic style which offered a European feel for Geert’s family, who traveled from Belgium, in a picturesque Chicago location. As we walked the grounds taking pictures, it was lush, green, and like a fairy-tale.
These two found me online and hired me after looking at the work on my website; afterward, they noted that their pictures transported them back to that day in a vibrant and realistic way. Even now, as I look at the images, I remember how fun it was to interact with these two and the beauty of the rain that fell off-and-on throughout the day. On the same day as the Chicago Bears-Minnesota Vikings home game, it was probably a good thing that we were able to explore one location for couple photographs rather than dodging traffic around the city. Staying close to The Bond Chapel allowed us to explore and have a rich variety of photographs before the fantastic celebration afterwards at The University of Chicago’s classy Quadrangle Club where Catherine and Geert put on a show with their unbelievable dancing skills complete with lifts, dips, and well-choreographed moves. Enjoy!
Cheers!
